Switzerland is a small multi-cultural, multi-lingual country located in the very heart of Europe. It shares common frontiers with five countries – Germany, France, Italy, Austria and the tiny Principality of Liechtenstein. Still, it is best known for its financial institutions, fine cheeses and chocolate, watch making industry, for its scenery and an excellent network of public transportation.

Climate: Because of its central position, the weather is influenced by the four main European air currents – from the Atlantic, the eastern continent, the northern subpolar region and the Mediterranean south. The climate is temperate on the Central Plateau, otherwise it differs considerably from region to region.

Travel: Numerous airlines serve Zurich, Geneva and Basel. For Lucerne it is best to fly to Zurich (Airport - Lucerne City: approx. 1 hours by train).

The Organizing Committee will negotiate with various hotels to have a special rate for all participants. Briefly, there are 3 classes of hotels: A-class (CHF 420.00+), B-class (CHF 260.00 - 420.00), C-class (CHF 180.00 -260.00). There are also youth hostels, B & B and private accomodations available (CHF 30.00 -180.00).
