It is our great pleasure to invite you to the IFHE Anniversary World Congress in Lucerne. The International Federation for Home Economics (IFHE) was founded 1908 in Switzerland. With the international congress the IFHE is celebrating the 100th anniversary.
<<Home Economics: Reflecting the Past - Creating the Future>> - the title of the conference and the subsequent thematic directions serve to focus home economists and allied professionals on the questions of sustainability, advocacy and the active creation of preferred futures for home economics, relevant disciplinary fields, and the profession itself, while critically reflecting upon and being informed by its historical roots.
This Congress includes a new initiative, the Leadership Meeting, which is a future oriented session to which all member organisations of IFHE are invited. The focus of the session is on future planning, membership retention, political positioning, marketing and public relations, which connects directly with the second theme of the Congress - Creating the Future. This session will provide insights into the IFHE Position Statement, Home Economics in the 21st Century and how this might be utilised by member organisations.
The Swiss Association IFHE World Congress 2008 and the Organising Committee are devoting their best to make your participation comfortable and fruitful. We look forward to extending our welcome to you in Lucerne in July, 2008.
